SAVHDA 2017 News

SAVHDA had a busy 2017, filled with a variety of events! Tests, Workshops, Seminars and Training Clinics were held in Gauteng and the Western Cape.

In case you hadn’t noticed, we have a super sexy new Logo!! Check out the awesome new Certificates (yes, pass one of our Tests with your dog and you get one!), hats, buffs and decals.

5 Test weekends were held in the main regions and numerous workshops were offered. The highlight events were probably the Judges/Test Directors Workshop and the German Hunt Test Seminar offered by visiting JGHV (German Hunting Dog Club) Judges!

The Judges Workshop enabled us to add some new Judges and Test Directors to our panel, and was of huge benefit to all in understanding our Tests and the Judging system. Congratulations to Razvan Vlad Berindan and Renee Minny, who joined the ranks of judges, and those who have joined the ranks of Learner Judges.

We found different venues for some of our tests, which gave a new dimension to our testing capabilities and to the overall versatility of the field and water work. The upcountry venue in Derby is superb and 3 test days have already been held there. A variety of bird species and spectacular water makes this a great venue to run on. In the Western Cape, we utilized the wheat fields holding Guinea Fowl – something we have not done before! These new areas allow us to offer more tests out of the main hunting and trialing season, which gives you, our members, more opportunity to test your dogs!

We are busy uploading all of the 2017 Test results, complete with all scores and information. These should be available on our Test Results page shortly. In the meantime, the dogs that passed the Tests are available on the Home page under Test News.

Our website has a new look and is a work in progress. Our apologies if some pages are not yet operational – they should be soon. A Members Only area is being added, which will give members greater access to Test and Training information, as well as a SAVHDA dedicated Forum. Watch for it!!

Members, your comments are welcome, help us make this website better!
